QlikView™ Data Visualization

QDataViz, Inc is losing money and we need to use QlikView™ to find out why.   In an interactive 4-hour session, we will use this case study to learn the various types of analysis we can perform in QlikView™ and find a solution to QDataViz’s problems.  We will cover how we as humans best consume large amounts of data and how QlikView™ can help us create the perfect data visualization for each type of analysis.  Since QlikView™ doesn’t apply data visualization best practices automatically, we will learn how to apply them ourselves while following a simple data visualization style guide.  Once we’ve finished our analysis, we end the course by making our case about what’s wrong with QDataViz, Inc.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn about rank, trend, multivariate, distribution, correlation, geographic and what-if analysis.
  • Learn which data visualization methods best help us to perform each type of analysis
  • Learn data visualization best practices to help consume and conmmunicate vast amounts of data
  • Learn how to include adequate labeling to our charts, convert color into data, add more detail, throw away “chartjunk”, respect usability and be honest when creating QlikView data visualizations
  • Learn the chart properties and expressions necessary in QlikView for each type of analysis and each data visualization best practice.
